Studio Bros. launches trial service for corporate customers to automatically convert 3DCG assets into high-quality data for real-time content.

(headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Mototaka Kaneko, President; hereinafter "Studio Bros.") will begin offering a trial service for corporate customers to automatically convert 3DCG assets into high-quality data for real-time content on November 28, 2024.

The metaverse market in Japan continues to grow, and is expected to rapidly expand from 285.1 billion yen in FY2023 to 2 trillion yen in FY2027 (according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications 2024 White Paper on Information and Communications). Among these, the need for real-time assets required for rich metaverse content production using game engines such as Unreal Engine is increasing, but there is a shortage of such real-time assets in Japan. Converting existing CG data into real-time assets requires data conversion man-hours and human resources with optimization skills, and there are few companies in Japan that offer real-time asset production services.

In response to these issues, Studio Bros. has developed an automatic conversion service for corporate customers to support real-time asset production for projects that utilize game engines. In addition to in-house use, the service can also be used with the Unreal Engine and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) by releasing assets from the Fab* Note provided by Epic Games. Specifically, game content production, background asset production for virtual production, TV program and VR (virtual reality)/MR (mixed reality)/metaverse content production, 3D product configurator production in the manufacturing industry, and product manufacturing in the apparel and toy e-commerce business fields In addition, the service enables the easy utilization of assets in a variety of fields, including the production of 3D products and configurators in the manufacturing industry, the manufacture of products in the apparel and toy e-commerce business fields, etc., simply by receiving the data.

Note: An open marketplace where digital content creators can discover, share, purchase, and sell digital assets in a centralized manner.

Service target: Corporate clients

Accepted data: Autodesk Maya (2020-2023) scene files + 3D model data created with Autodesk Arnold (6.0.3-7.1)

* This trial service allows registration and conversion of up to 10 asset files per account. (*) Converted data: 3D model data developed with Unreal Engine.

Converted data: 3D model data without animation that can be deployed in Unreal Engine (Unreal Engine 5 Project file to be delivered)

Usage fee: Free (period: scheduled from November 28, 2024 to the start of the official service)
